Do you know who is the head of Great Britain? I am sure , you do . There is no person in the world who doesn't know it . Of course, it is her majesty Elizabeth ll . She was born on 21st April in 1926 . She was born in London, the UK. Her full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. She was educated privately at home . From the very childhood she was very keen on studying. She became queen at the age of 26 . She was crowned in Westminster Abbey on the 2nd of June 1953. Her husband is Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. They got married on November 20th , 1947. Her majesty and Prince Philip have four children: Prince Charles, Princess Anne , Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. The Queen has five official residences in Great Britain. She is a living symbol of the country she represents .

My Parents' Professions

My parents have always been my role models. They work hard and they love what they do. My father is a ship captain and my mother is a housewife.

My dad always wanted to become a seaman. In his chilhood he read books about sea adventures. After school he entered a naval school and later he graduated from the State Maritime Academy. Dad has been working for 15 years. He says he was seasick at first, but not very long. When dad goes to sea he can be away for months. It is a sad time for mum and me, but then dad comes home and he spends a lot of time with us. He sometimes brings cool things for me such as a compass or binoculars. Dad tells us stories about his voyages and I like to listen to him.

Dad loves his job and one of the reasons for it is that he knows how much my mum and I love him and wait for him. As I have written already, mum is a housewife. I think she is the best mother in the world and a very good housekeeper. She cooks very well and she always keeps our house clean and tidy.

My parents say that a person needs to love his or her profession and do this job well. I have not chosen my future profession yet, but I know how important it is to find something that I will do with pleasure, just like my mum and dad.
