A different kind of treasure (1) I was walking home from school on a Thursday afternoon when I found a strange map. It was a map of my village, and there was an 'X' on the map. Next to the X'were the words 'TREASURE HERE! (3) I continued to walk down the street. When I arrived at the house, I saw some people in the front garden. They were standing near a table with a cake that had gold coins around it. Then, I saw my friend Carrie. 'Hi, James! You found the party! Come and have some cake!' Carrie said to me. (2) After I thought about it for a few minutes, I decided to look for this treasure. The place with the 'X' was not far from my house. I walked for a few minutes, and when I got to the street where the 'X' was, I started to hear music. (4) 'Party? I didn't know you were having a party! Why does this map say there's treasure? Where did you get all these gold coins?' When Carrie heard my questions, she started to laugh. She said the gold coins weren't real and the treasure was the party. It was all just a joke. I guess it was a good way to get people to go to the party!
