1 Read the textbook excerpt again. Why should teachers try to keep students from eating junk food? introduction to Kindergarten Teaching
MEALTIMES
Different schools handle mealtimes in different ways. Some schools offer early care in the morning. These
schools usually provide breakfast for their students. Other schools often provide an in-class snack in the late
morning. Do your best to keep the school from giving students junk food. Young children need small, healthy
snacks throughout the day.
Almost all schools provide lunches for their students. Usually, teachers escort their students to a cafeteria to
eat. Many cafeterias serve an optional hot lunch each day. Give your students a calendar showing when different
meals are served. Students may also bring their own lunches. Most schools don’t offer family style meals. But all
schools should provide utensils.
In many schools, students are allowed to go outside after lunch. Keep an eye on your students. Don’t allow
them to leave the cafeteria too early. It’s important that they finish most of their food.
when you enter our class, you will immediately recognize the study of Russian language and literature. On the right wall and in the spaces between the Windows hang portraits of famous poets and writers. On the Central wall to the right of the blackboard are tables with spelling charts. Above them is an inscription: "We learn language and must learn it continuously until the last day of our life" (K. Paustovsky). To the left of the Board is a portrait of Alexander Pushkin painted on the wall. Below it in block letters is the text: "And for a long time I will be so kind to the people that I have awakened good feelings with my lyre...". A video recorder is also mounted in the center above the blackboard. We are often shown documentaries about the life and work of poets and writers, show fragments of feature films on literary works. They also use a video recorder in Russian lessons.
On the opposite side there are four sections of a large Cabinet. It takes up the entire wall. Textbooks, manuals, and video cassettes are stored here. In one of the sections is our classroom library with card files and reader forms. This is additional fiction and critical literature. We collected the books for this library ourselves. You can move freely between the rows of desks that stand in the classroom in three rows. Near the window in front of the desks-the teacher's Desk. Gris large Windows with small openwork curtains allow light to pass well. Our classroom is the most spacious and bright in the school. I love my class.
