- Peter didn't use to go to the theatre regularly, but now he goes once a week.
Anne – I know how to use a computer now.
- Anne didn't use to know how to use a computer, but now she does.
For each sentence, we need to determine whether the action or situation used to happen in the past or not.
1. Deborah - She used to work in a clothes shop. Here, Deborah previously had a job in a clothes shop, but now she doesn't work there anymore.
2. Don - He didn't use to have a motorcycle, but now he has one. The speaker is referring to a past situation where Don didn't have a motorcycle, but currently, he owns one.
3. Janet - She didn't use to live on a boat, but now she does. Janet used to live somewhere else, but recently, she started living on a boat.
4. Adam - He used to have a beard, but now he doesn't. In the past, Adam had a beard, but now he no longer has one.
5. Lou - He didn't use to grow his own vegetables, but now he does. Lou previously didn't have the habit of growing his own vegetables, but currently, he does.
6. Kate - She used to watch TV every day, but now she doesn't watch it as often. In the past, Kate had a routine of watching TV every day, but recently, she reduced the frequency.
7. Peter - He didn't use to go to the theatre regularly, but now he goes once a week. Peter previously didn't have the habit of going to the theatre frequently, but recently, he started going once a week.
8. Anne - She didn't use to know how to use a computer, but now she does. In the past, Anne lacked the knowledge or skill to use a computer, but now she has learned how to use it.
