Monument to "Cat Semyon"An original and unique sculpture of its kind. It was erected in honor of a dedicated cat, named Semyon in 2013. The monument symbolizes the devotion of animals to people, and the willingness to follow them. A bronze pedestal was installed on Prospekt Geroev-Severomortsev, near Semenovskoye Lake.This animal has its own legend, and no one knows if it was true or not. According to the stories of the Muromchan, Semyon is a Thai cat, which the family took with them to the capital during the holiday. On the way back home, the animal got out of the car and fled. The owners noticed the loss when they entered Murmansk. They were upset, but did not come back for him. Six years later, on the threshold of the apartment, they saw a missing cat. He was able to find the owners, having overcome the distance of 2000 km. Monument "Waiting"This sculpture is the pride of the inhabitants of Murmansk. The monument was built by joint efforts in 2012. The people of Murom gathered money for the construction of the sculpture. With this pedestal, they wanted to identify the connection of the city's inhabitants with the sea. For sailors, the monument "Waiting" symbolizes the devotion of wives, the love of mothers who are waiting for them from the voyage. The stela is set over the Kola Bay. The sculpture is visible from the sea. The first thing that seamen see when they go to the port is the "Waiting" monument. A small square and an observation deck are located near the stela.
Memorial complex "Mariners who died in peacetime"The construction is a whole complex of structures. It is set on a hill with a view of the city. In the center of the complex is built a 25-meter hexagonal tower of the lighthouse. In it operates the museum, where the book of memory of the dead seamen is kept. Now there are more than 1400 names. A wide marble staircase leads to the building. And in front of her is a large ship's anchor. Particular interest among the guests of Murmansk is caused by such a part of the complex as the cutting of the nuclear submarine Kursk. It was solemnly installed in 2009 on the Day of the Russian Navy.
