Francis Bacon is a master of figurative painting. He preferred to write in the triptych format.Francis Bacon was born on 28 October 1909 at 63 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin. His father, Captain Edward Mortimer Bacon, was a retired soldier who raised horses. He came from an old but impoverished family. Mother-Christina Winifred. The family had five children — three sons and two daughters. They were all raised by a nanny. In 1940, his father died, and Bacon inherited all the property, since his brothers were no longer alive at that time. During World War II, Bacon was not conscripted into the regular army due to chronic asthma, but volunteered for civil defense units. However, his health deteriorated, and in 1942 he left the service and rented a cottage in the Hampshire countryside with Eric Hall. There, Bacon continued to paint, but no paintings of the period have survived. In 1944, Bacon created the triptych "Three Studies to the figures at the foot of the Crucifixion". The paintings depict three anthropomorphic creatures on a bright orange background in a rough, garish manner. The figures were based on furies-mythical creatures, characters of Aeschylus 'tetralogy " Oresteia". The name connects the painted creatures with the saints, who were traditionally located at the foot of the crucifixion in religious painting.
Hе died on April 28 of a heart attack. Because of his atheistic views, a memorial service was not held. The body was cremated and the ashes scattered. All his property, estimated at 11 million pounds, Bacon bequeathed to John Edwards
