Titanium was discovered by the English chemist William Gregor in 1791.
It's light and strong silvery metal having a lot of merits but one drawback:
it's very expensive!  Where can titanium be used?
It is used in chemical industry, in medicine by dentists (for implants) and in surgery for implanting artificial titanium joints.
The fastest in the world nuclear submarine K-162 (named 'Golden Fish" for its high cost) was made from titanium. What else is made of it?
1) parts of Boeing planes (in engine, shassis), and also shassis for airobuses;
2) parts of spaceships;
3) parts of submarines;
4) parts for Rolls Royce cars; (the price is more than 1mln. dollars);
5) parts for superjets (100 Sukhoy)
6) It is also used for making intercontinental sea missiles (Bulava)
7) pipes of different diametre and so on.
