I'd like to talk about children in Victorian times.
Many children in Victorian times worked as chimney sweeps. They needed to clean them. Or children worked in cotton factories. They fixed big machines. For that, little boys needed to go into them. Just imagine how dangerous was it!
The masters were often cruel. Children worked hard for long hours to feed their families. And of course they had lots of problems with health.
Fortunately, lord Shaftesbury helped to stop adults from using little children to work. In the end of Victorian times all children went to school until the age of 10.
1. Is her husband at hospital? Where is her husband? Is her husband at hospital or at home? Her husband is at hospital, isn't he? 2. Is the weather terrible? What is the weather like? Is the weather terrible or fine? The weather is terrible, isn't it? 3. Are their children noisy? What are their children like? Are their children noisy or calm? Their children are noisy, aren't they? 4. Is Nick on a business trip? Where is Nick? Is Nick on a business trip or is he on holiday? Nick is on a business trip, isn't he?
