After a long and exhausting day people come home and want to rest. Some people come tired after work, others - after hard studying. In any case, in the evening or at weekends everyone thinks about the rest. Suitable relaxation is the key to good health and positive mood.
There can be two basic types of rest: active and passive. Most of us choose passive rest after long hours of work. It means we come home, eat dinner, read a magazine, watch some TV channels, perform minor household chores and then being completely tired go to bed.
However, there are many other, more interesting and exciting ways of rest. Going out with friends or colleagues seems to be a good way to spend an evening. It can be a walk around the city, a bowling night, skating at the rink, playing ping-pong, visiting the gym, etc. Psychologists say that active ways of relaxing are healthy in both ways: physical and mental.
So, that’s why some people don’t come home until midnight. Others prefer to do such activities only at weekend or during the holidays. To be precise the majority of people choose to have passive evenings during the weekdays and then at weekends they go out with friends. It makes perfect sense as during the working week they are rather exhausted to think of any agile activities.
As for me, I prefer to spend my evenings walking my dog. During the weekends and holidays, of course, I choose some vigorous activity: skiing in winter and surfing in summer.
