It was a very dark night and the old house was completely quiet. Suddenly, the door burst open. Jackie heard somebody climbing the stairs... She was holding her little brother's hand, trying to comfort him while holding a flashlight in her other hand. "It's okay. I'm going to get your lost toy you dropped upstairs," she whispered. He was shaking, and she decided to leave him downstairs. "Stay where you are, Gregory!" she commanded and took off. The stairway was quite old, boards creeking as she took a step, and suddenly, Jackie felt something cold on her shoulder just as she reached the second floor. She turned around, and it was grandma Marjory. But Jackie remembered that she died years ago!
In the world of feeling there is only one law - to make the happiness of the one you love. nowadays, many people doubt the correctness of this statement by Stendhal. perhaps this is because we have become pragmatic and down-to-earth, we have stopped living with feelings. it's hard for us to believe that there is love - a feeling that can change the world. the thing is, probably, that we have stopped reading, thinking about what is happening inside and around us, and most importantly, doing it on our own. an example of pure and unselfish love is the love of Romeo and Juliet in Shakespeare's tragedy. their love did not depend on the opinions of others, or even on their own position. their example convincingly proves that the love of two people can change others. after all, after the death of Romeo and Juliet, two warring families stop inter-family feuds. pure love, which has become the content of life, which does not require anything in return, which complete irresponsibility, senselessness, unreality cannot stop - the love of telegraph operator Zheltkov for Princess Vera in the story "garnet bracelet" by A. I. Kuprin. There are insurmountable social barriers between Princess Vera and Zheltkov.
