Evgeni Plushenko is a retired Russian figure skater. He is a four-time Olympic medalist, a three-time World champion. He was born on 3 November 1982 in Dzhamku. Since Plushenko frequently suffered from colds, his mother decided he needed exercise and enrolled him in figure skating lessons at age four. He trained in Volgograd until his ice rink closed when he was 11 years old. He became the youngest ever World Junior Champion and World medalist at age 14. After that he took part in a lot of competitions including Olympic Games, World Championships, European Championships. He retired officially from competition on March 2017. Also Evgeni has expressed interest in coaching.
