Before 1590 he had left Stratford and went to London, where he worked as an actor. There he started to write plays. Shakespeare helped to build a new theatre, which was called “The Globe”. He’s famous for his great comedies with happy endings, like “a midsummer Night’s dream”. He also wrote many tragedies with sad endings such a “romeo and juliet”. He had wrote 38 plays. He died on 23 April 1616
