THE GIANT PANDA An endangered species, the giant panda can only be found in the mountain bamboo forests of Western China. There are only about 1,000 wild giant pandas left in the world. Giant pandas are mammals.Giant pandas are vegetarians for the most part of their time.Their favourite food is bamboo.However,they may eat grass, fruits, or sometimes, small animals like chicken. Giant pandas do not live in groups.They are loners! Female giant pandas usually give birth to twins.Baby giant pandas are very small, blind and pinkish.Mother giant pandas choose to raise just one baby and leave the other to die. Mother giant pandas feed their babies with milk. A baby giant panda opens its eyes at six to seven weeks. It starts to learn how to walk when it is about three or four months old. Mother giant pandas look after their babies for about 18 months ,after that a baby giant panda moves out to live independently.
Not all people choose to have a church wedding, some just register their marriage. Signing a marriage contract was their common decision; both Ron and Becky believe it to be necessary. Charlie was their first-born child, later a girl and two more boys were born to them. In some countries of the world arranged marriages are traditional and even preferable to marriages of love. The generation gap often causes problems between the older and younger people. Pauline is my distant relative; we don’t see much of each other. After the divorce you begin to understand how difficult it is to be a single parent. A cheerful atmosphere in the Wilsons’ family has always attracted friends and relatives. Irish mountains are low; the highest, _ Carrantuohill, is only 3414 feet high. The most important river is the Shannon. There are many small islands in it, _ Lough Corrib and _ Lough Mask are two of the largest.
Most of the island is occupied by the Irish Republic. The capital of the country is _ Dublin situated on the banks of the Liffey. _ Dublin is an attractive city, with wide streets and squares. The city spreads out in all directions, even to the northernmost foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. _ Dublin is the home of the oldest university in _ Ireland, _ Trinity College, founded in 1591. The National University of _ Ireland is also located in _ Dublin, as are important libraries, galleries, museums and theatres like the Irish Literary Theatre or the Abbey Theatre.
