The BBC Just as the British Parliament has the reputation for being 'the mother of parliament', so the BBC might be said to be ' the mother of information services'. Its reputation for impartiality and objectivity in news reporting is, at least when compared to news broadcasting in many other countries, largely justified. Whenewer it is accused of bias by one political side, it can always point out that the other side has complained of the same thing at some other time - so the complaints are evenly balanced. In fact, the BBC is rather proud of the fact that it gets complaints from both sides of the political divide, because this testifies not only to its impartiality but also to its independence. Interestingly, thought this independence is as much the result of habit and common agreement as it is the result of its legal status. It is true that it depends neither on advertising not (directly) on the government fot its income. It gets this form the licence fee which everybody who uses a television set has to pay. However, the government decides how much this fee is going to be, appoints its board of governors and its director-general has the rigth to veto any BBC programme before it has been transmitted and even has the right to take away the BBC's licence to broadcast. In theory therefore it would be easy for a government to influence what the BBC does. Neverheless parrly by historical accident (High ideas and independence), the BBC began, right from the start, to establish its effective independence and its reputation for impartiality. This first occured through the medium of radio broadcasts to people in Britain. Then, in 1932 The BBC World Service was set up, with a lisence to broadcast first to the empire and then to other parts of the world. During the Second World War, it became indentified with the principles of democracy and free speach. In this way the BBC's fame became international. Today, the Wotld Service still broadcasts around the globe, in English and several other languages. The BBC also runs ten national radio stations inside Britain and several local ones (BBC Radio)

The last school bell carries news of summer. School corridors are empty, but the courtyards heated by the sun begin to fill with laughter and cries of children. Briefcases, textbooks and notebooks are thrown into the farthest corners of the house. Now you can forget about stuffy classes and endless lessons. Summer is a time of fun and relaxation.

In the summer I constantly want to be on the street. Sitting at home, even on the hottest day, becomes simply impossible. Happy voices are heard from all sides on the street, warm air envelops you like a blanket, and from so many bright colors your eyes begin to hurt.

You wake up in the morning, and already know that on this day, you will not have to be bored. And a thousand sleepy ideas and plans revolve in a sleepy head.

In the summer I like to go fishing. Wake up when the window is still completely dark, and having collected fishing rods and tackle go to the river. Sitting on the shore, waiting for the fish to bite, and thinking about how wonderful it is to be a schoolboy on vacation. And even the fact that this day the fish does not want to fall into your hands cannot spoil your mood.

After fishing, when the sun is already starting to warm, you can lie down on the beach, near the river. The street is so hot that as soon as you get out of the cool river water, you immediately become dry. On the beach, you can play the ball, arrange swimming competitions among your friends, or just lie down while reading your favorite book.

You can just walk around the park, enjoying the butterflies circling around, and breathing in the aromas of flowers and grass, from which your head begins to spin. Even the most ordinary walk in the summer becomes a real event, and can bring a lot of vivid impressions.

And in the evening the street is filled with people.

Children play hide and seek or a ball, and even adults, always so serious and busy, walk in parks or sit on a bench.

At this time of the year I want to be sure to be in the fresh air, breathing in the sweet smells of summer. And how many wonderful summer games exist is hard to even count. You can build houses on trees, collect and examine beetles, or just play soccer. You can run, lie on the grass or pick apples in the garden.

Summer gives freedom. The evening comes slowly, the darkness covers the courtyards gradually, as if worrying that everyone could finish their business.

Summer holidays - it's always nice. Ended lessons left behind calls the break, and ahead - something very good.
Summer is the time to take a walk with her friends, and the game play, and the guests go. But most of all I look forward to when our parents go with us to the sea.
This summer, I finally learned how to swim, and every morning, jumping for joy on the road to the sea and back.
       I love the sea.
Now on the table in front of me are seashells. I enclose them in your ear and hear the sound of the surf. I seem to feel like an ocean wave flies and, stumbling over a stone and throws in my face a thousand sparkling saltwater spray. And I'm laughing, I'm happy with his mom, dad, sister, together with the sea gulls and the sun.
