One of the most interestin animals in Australia is kangaroo. The red kangaroo is the biggest of fifty percent of fifty kinds. They can jump four meters and more, and can run with the speed of seventy kilometers an hour. Kangaroos live in small groups. They prefer to eat grass and leaves.
Grey koalas are very nice animals. The often look sleepy. They have a pouch on theis fronts for their babies, like kangaroos. The koalas live in the pouch during six mounths, and then they ride on their mother's back. The name of koala means "no water". In fact koalas are not bears, they only look like these animals.
There are such unusual animals like echidna and duckbill. They are unusual because their babyies dring mother's milk, but they are born from the eggs. The echidna likes to eat ants. The duckbill can stay under water for several minutes, it swims very well.
Australia is famous for its birds - more than eight hundred kinds. Emu is two meters high, it's the second largest bird in the world. It can run very fast, but it can't fly.
Kookaburra is also an interesting bird. When it laughes it seems that a person laughes. Australians even have a song about this bird - they like it very much.
Gum trees or eucalyptus trees are wide-spread in Australia. These trees grow very quickly and can survive in the fires.
Australia has many surprises and many people dream to visit it.
