Communication between people before the Internet era was rather hard. In early years people used men-messengers on foot and on horses. Depending on the distance, getting a message could take days and even months. Also pigeons and other birds were used to to take and bring notes. In the 17th century postal service appeared and it lasts until today. Though now postal services usually are limited to sending parcels and packages, or making out money orders. Sending letters by mail or post now is considered out of date. With the invention and wide-spread use of the Internet in 1990s communication has become very simple. Sending and getting a letter is a matter of several minutes. Nowadays we can also communicate and see each other on the screen at the same time. And any distance is no problem any more. The only question that remains is "what's next?".
