Mary: I'd like to welcome Charles Long to the studio today. Charles has just published an article in
New Science journal about memorisation. It's all about how to make our memory function better.
Charles, exam time is looming and there'll be lots of teenagers tuning in today. Can you give us
some advice about improving our ability to memorise?
Charles: Hello! Yes, of course. I'd like to start by talking about the process of memorisation. It's
vital that we understand the process if we want to make adjustments to the way we function. We all
use memory in the same way. It doesn't matter whether you're a student revising for your finals or
an adult standing in the aisle of a supermarket, trying to recall a particular item from a grocery list.
Mary: Ha ha! That's me. I always forget to take my list.
Charles: You and thousands of other people too, Mary. We learn to use our memory when we are
still at nursery school. Young children are naturally very good at working out how to remember
things. The tips I'm going to share today are based on the things we used to do to help us remember
when we were children. The process of memorisation occurs in two distinct forms. Do you know
what they are?
Mary: Are they “long-term memory' and 'short-term memory'?
Charles: That's right! But these aren't completely separate concepts. We use a combination of both
types of memory when we want to formulate our thoughts and recall information, whether we're

It’s a huge structure on the bank of the river Thames in Westminster district of London. The building connects with the Trafalgar Square and Whitehall Street. Originally, from 1529 the palace has been the English monarchs’ residence. After the fire in 1834, the building has been completely rebuilt and now it serves as the place of British Parliamentary meetings. The building contains about 1200 rooms, 100 stairs, and 5 kilometer of halls. The biggest and the oldest part of the building is called Westminster-hall. It was erected in 1097 and occupies the area of 1800 square kilometers. This room has once served a place of the English Supreme Court’s sessions. Many prominent people were sentenced to death here, among them, Guy Fawkes, Thomas Moore, Charles I and many others. Westminster Palace has several high towers. The most famous of all is Big Ben. Everybody knows that it’s the biggest clock in the world and that it’s the symbol of Great Britain. Another well-known tower is the Victoria Tower. It’s a bit higher than Big Ben. In 1987 the Westminster Palace and the adjacent Church of St. Margaret were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. By the way the world-famous Westminster Abbey is situated right behind the Westminster Palace.                                                       Одним из самых красивых зданий в Лондоне является Вестминстерский дворец. На станции Клаву принимают за больную неизвестной формой чесотки и отправляют в больницу.

Врач путает лекарства и Клава получает большую дозу галопередола.

В её видениях ей является тот самый клиент и говорит что любит её.

Клава сбегает из больницы искать того-самого клиента.

Финал 1 части - Клава идёт по шоссе на фоне заходящего солнца.
