II. V TEXT 26 SHE CAN'T BUY THE ZOO A rich woman comes to London. She has got three child- ren - two boys and a girl. They are noisy. They run and jump and often don't listen to their mother. Today they don't know what to do. They ask their mother: "Can we go to the Zoo, mother? Can you take us there?" “Yes, we can go to the Zoo,” she says. And she takes the children to the Zoo in the afternoon. The children look at the animals, laugh and feed them. They make funny faces, when they see monkeys. The children like big animals: the elephant, the giraffe, the rhino, the tigers and the lions. They ask their mother: "Can you buy the Zoo for us?" "I think I can," the rich woman answers. The woman goes to the Zoo director and says: "My children like your Zoo. I want to buy it for them. How much must pay for it?" The Zoo people do not like the woman. They do not like her children. So the director says: “We can't sell the Zoo. We can't sell the animals. But we can buy your children for the Zoo."
