In Kazakhstan, there are a lot of holidays to celebrate love and family life, but there isn't a special day to celebrate
friendship. We think that friendship is very important and
we want to have a holiday for it.
Our special celebration is Friendship Day. It's on 21 June,
the first day of summer. Summer is the best season for
celebrations because the weather is good.
On that day, people spend time with their friends. They
visit their best friend in the morning and give him or her
a present. If their best friend lives in another town or in a
different country, they send them a card.
In the afternoon people have parties in parks. They dance
and sing friendship songs. In some cities, they close the
roads and people can have parties and dance there, too.
There are a lot of games and competitions on Friendship
Day. People make friendship posters, friendship cakes,
friendship bracelets and friendship badges. There is also a
competition for best friendship photos.
People like the Friendship Day celebrations because they
can spend the day with their friends and because they
can make new friends on that day, too!

The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is a reserve located in the northern part of Belarus at a distance of 120 kilometers from Minsk in the direction of St. Petersburg. Located on the border of Vitebsk and Minsk regions. The center of the reserve is in the village of Domzheritsy, Lepel district. It was created for the protection and breeding of rare species of animals that are listed in the national Red Book. The total area is 85.2 thousand hectares. The Berezinsky State Reserve was established in January 1925 and became one of the first Soviet reserves.
During the Great Patriotic War and the German occupation, it was seriously damaged and in 1951 it was decided to liquidate the reserve, but in 1958 it was restored.
In 1979, the Berezinsky Reserve was given the status of a biosphere reserve.
Due to its biological diversity and the uniqueness of natural complexes, the reserve is of exceptional importance not only for Belarus, but for the whole of Europe as a whole. There are four types of ecosystems here: dense forests, swampy swamps, fast-flowing reservoirs and clear meadows. The main type are forests, occupying about 89% of the territory of the reserve.
