Healthy Food
Eating is fun, especially when you are hungry. Most people have a favourite food. Some people enjoy eating sweet things like cakes, chocolates and ice cream. Other people enjoy cheese and meet. Enjoying eating is our body’s way of making sure that is gets the things it needs to work properly.(как следует, как положено)
Food helps us to keep warm, talk, run and do all the other things we do. It helps us to grow (расти) and stay healthy. It helps us to get energy and to clean our body inside (очищать тело изнутри).
Vitamins also help us to be healthy. Scientists name vitamins after the alphabet. All of them are very important, for example: vitamin C keeps our skin (кожа) healthy. It is found in fresh fruit and green vegetables, such as oranges, blackcurrants, lettuce.
Vitamin D helps our bones to grow strong and hard, and we are able to make it for ourselves if our skin gets enough sunlight (получать достаточное количество света). But we can also get vitamin D if we eat fish, milk, butter, cheese and margarine. Some people buy pills (пилюли) and tablets containing vitamins. But we have a good Natural History Museum in our town.
Last week I was on an excursion there.
First we listened to a lecture on the history of our region which was very interesting.
Then a guide showed us the exposition of the museum.
We walked through its halls looking at different stands with exhibits.
There were ancient vases and coins, dishes and bowls, tools and arms.
The guide told us about the origin and the age of the exhibits and answered our questions.
The girls asked questions about national costumes and dishes and the boys were interested in arms.
The next hall was even more interesting.
There we saw stuffed animals and birds.
It was a small zoo of the region nature.
There was also an aquarium full of different fish, tortoises and shells.
The collection of minerals was interesting, too.
I have learned very much from my visit to the museum.
