8. People simply cannot imagine their lives without the media, the internet, computers and mobile phones.
9. Thus, technology provides benefits for all people.
10. On the other hand, we have to use it carefully because the same inventions which save human life and improve the world can also be used to produce dangerous weapons or chemicals which may threaten our planet.
11. Another problem that the “the machine age” has brought us is pollution and waste disposal.
12. The development of nuclear power, pesticides and the plastic industry greatly pollute the environment.
13. Moreover, we are helped by so many machines that we have become lazy and lead an unhealthy way of life.
14. We cannot do without cars which take us everywhere quickly and easily but at the same time pollute the atmosphere.
15. On the other hand, having access to a keyboard and computer, a printer and a telephone link some people do not even have to leave their homes to do their daily work and communicate with the world outside, which in turn may lead to isolation and frustration.
16. Still, using modern technologies more people are living now in more comfort, health and prosperity than ever before.
17. At the same time, it is the responsibility of all people as well as scientists to detect, prevent and control and potential hazards.
