Youth travel is also on the rise - more than 22% of these travellers were between 15 and 29 years old. A recent survey about young people's travel preferences has shown that this trend is likely to continue. holiday REASONS FOR TRAVELLING While beach holidays and skiing trips are still popular with young travellers, more than 50% of the participants in the survey said that they had travelled for educational purposes. For 16-year- old Peter Jones from the USA, travelling abroad is a way to practise his language skills. He told researchers that he was studying French at school, but he also wanted to learn Spanish, so he had visited Mexico and Canada several times. Other common reasons why young people travel are to experience new cultures and exploring exotic destinations. POPULAR DESTINATIONS Europe remains the top destination, but in recent travellers have started looking for something new. In search of new experiences, many tourists prefer to go off the beaten track and explore places like Africa and Asia. Others choose a in their home country over foreign travel. Maral Akhmadieva, a 15-year-old student from Kazakhstan, believes that travellers should get to know their own country before going abroad. She said that she had visited all the regions of Kazakhstan by the age of 14 and she would visit China in the near future. TRANSPORT Low-cost airlines now offer flights to all parts of the world and 25% of all participants in the survey said that they had chosen to visit a destination because they had found a cheap flight. Another trend in youth travel is booking transport and accommodation online. In the last few decades, new technologies have made travelling cheaper, easier and safer. Various forms of pollution are happening due to some careless human actions. Littering is one of them. It can lead to water and air pollution, land and soil pollution, and to many other unwanted effects. Litter has become a serious environmental issue nowadays. Of course, the majority of normal people know that littering is a negative thing. However, there are still lots of careless people who continue scattering their trash around. Litter can come in many various forms, starting from simple newspapers and proceeding to poisonous chemicals left from industry. People buy more and more unnecessary things every day, instead of reviving their old things. For example, instead of buying a new pair of shorts, we can simply shorten our old jeans. Or, instead of buying a new plastic bottle of water, we can simply refill the old one. People forget that plastic is highly harmful for the environment. In case they still buy many plastic bottles, they should at least recycle them. Stepping back from personal litter, factories and their owners should be more environment-oriented as well. Every year millions of chemicals are thrown into water and air. Thus, we get dirty seas and oceans, where even fishes die out, and gas polluted air, which is the cause of many health problems. The harm from littering can be prevented only by overcoming human ignorance. Мусор бывает в различных формах, начиная с обычных газет и, заканчивая ядохимикатами, то есть отходами от промышленности. Ежедневно люди покупают все больше и больше ненужных вещей, вместо того, чтобы возродить свои старые вещи. Например, вместо того, чтобы покупать новые шорты, можно просто укоротить старые джинсы. Или, вместо того чтобы покупать новую пластиковую бутылку воды, можно просто наполнить старую. Люди забывают, что пластик очень вреден для окружающей среды. В случае если они по-прежнему покупают много пластиковых бутылок, то они должны, по крайней мере, утилизировать их.                                 Holidays in the not-too-distant future
What a wonderful day! The work is over and my long-awaited vacation, a reward for a well-done job, begins now. I don’t need to pack, I sent a message on my control panel at home and a robot will do the rest. My personal digital assistant chose a tour, booked tickets and all I have to do now is call my friends, because chatting and joking are the only things gadgets can’t do. Everything is ready and I’m taking my seat on the space express that is going to take me to my destination point. After a short trip we are landing and I am finally in the land of holidays and warm summer! There are ten days of relaxing and entertainment ahead of me, my schedule is tight and I’m going to have a look at it for the first time. Cool! There is swimming in an atmospheric sea, stratospheric bungee jumping, ultraviolet bathes, and it’s in the mornings alone! In the afternoons I’m going to take part in quadcopter racing, cosmoball matches, and after that: isometric dances! Gosh, can’t wait for these ones! It’s a real pity all the members of my family have their vacations at different times. We rarely see each other, only on weekends, because today people live where they work or study. I hope I will have enough emotional experiences to share with my family when we finally meet face-to-face. This is the only thing that hasn’t been automated yet, maybe in the near future.
