, My favourite room, Му favourite room is our kitchen. Perhaps the kitchen is the most important room in many houses, but it is particularly so in our house because it’s not only where we cook and eat but it’s also the main meeting place for family and friends. Whenever we have a party, people gravitate with their drinks to the kitchen. It always ends up the fullest and noisiest room in the house., , So what does this special room D like? It’s quite big, but not really huge. It’s big enough to have a good-sized oval table in the centre, E is the focal point of the room., , There is a large window above the sink, which looks out onto two apple trees in the garden. The cooker is at one end. At the other end is a wall with a large notice-board, which tells the story of our lives, past, present, and future, in words and pictures. All our world is there for everyone to read! Without doubt some of the happiest times of my life have been spent in our kitchen., , , , A 1) memorials 2) memoirs 3) souvenirs 4) memories, , B 1) take 2) lead 3) drive 4) guide, , C 1) up 2) down 3) on 4) around, , D 1) glance 2) watch 3)see 4) look, , E 1) what 2) who 3) which 4) where, , , Прочитайте текст и вставьте вместо каждого пропуска нужную грамматическую форму, выбрав её из выпадающего списка., , , , Living in a city, Living in a city has both advantages and disadvantages. On Saturday my husband (took) me for a meal in a restaurant which (was recommended) in a local newspaper. The restaurant (has been) open for only three months, but it's already quite popular with young people even though it is 30 kilometres away. We enjoyed the evening as the meal was delicious and we (were served) wonderfully. Unfortunately, after we left the restaurant, we had a problem with the car as it wouldn't start though we ( had been trying) to get it started for nearly half an hour. We couldn't understand what (had happened) to the car and decided to leave it behind in the car park untill the following day. We (had) nothing else to do but call a taxi which came in about an hour.
