In the space of fifty-five years, about five hundred and fifteen earth-dwellers from all of humanity visited in space.
Among them are three representatives of Kazakhstan: cosmonauts, national heroes of their country, Toktar Aubakirov, Talgat Musa Beyev and Aydin Aimbetov.
Each of them had his own way into space. A landmark event divided their lives into "before" and "after" the flight into space. But the main thing that unites these special people, and all cosmonauts, is the huge feeling of patriotism, love for the planet Earth, as a common parent of people, a sense of gratitude to Baikonur - the wharf of the Universe, the hospitable Kazakh land on which they became cosmonauts.
There is one more denominator in the cosmic fate of all three Kazakh cosmonauts. This is a man who by right can be called the pioneer of Kazakhstan's cosmos. The man who not only supported T. Aubakirov, T. Musabayev and A. Aimbetov in their space affairs, but also paved the way to space for his country. This is the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
It was NA Nazarbayev who raised the issue of the necessity of flying into space a representative of the Kazakh nationality before the leadership of the USSR. And this lucky hero, the first Soviet cosmonaut, was Hero of the Soviet Union, Honored Test Pilot of the USSR Toktar Aubakirov. The flight took place in October 1991. Thanks to the support of NA Nazarbayev, the first cosmonaut of sovereign Kazakhstan, Talgat Musabaev, flew three times into space. Before his first flight in July 1994, the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia jointly defined the status of T. Musabayev in this way: a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a serviceman of the Russian Federation. During the parade of sovereignties of the former union republics, this was a fundamental question.
In the future aspiration and high professionalism allowed T. Musabayev to make two more space flights as a commander of international space crews. The total duration of his space expeditions in 1994, 1998 and 2001 was almost a calendar year.
In September 2015, the third Kazakhstani cosmonaut Aydin Aimbetov flew into space. And this decision to continue the Kazakhstani space program, despite the economic crisis, was also adopted by the Head of State NA Nazarbayev.
In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On State Awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan", the title "Pilot-Cosmonaut of Kazakhstan" (Kazakistani ғaryshker-ұshyyshy) is awarded to citizens who successfully completed the specified space flight program, performed exemplary scientific, technical, research and practical tasks.
On January 12, 1995, the title of "Pilot-Cosmonaut of Kazakhstan" with the award of the highest award of the State - the Golden Star "Kazakhstan Republic Respublika" Halykh Haarmany "was awarded to Kazakhstani cosmonauts Toktar Aubakirov and Talgat Musabayev, who received Gold Stars No. 4 and No. 5.
October 14, 2015 Aydin Aimbetov was awarded the title of "Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Republic of Kazakhstan" with the presentation of the Golden Star "Kazakhstan Republic Respubliki Halyah Haarmany" at number 34.
