Karlsson is a very short plump man who lives in a small house hidden behind a chimney on the roof of an apartment building in Stockholm. Karlsson can fly because he has a motor with a propeller on his back. He makes friends with a boy nicknamed Lillebror (in the Russian translation he is called Malysh).
Karlsson often causes trouble but in the end everybody in Lillebror's family grow to like this funny man.
