A species of artiodactyl mammal from the tribe of bulls of the family Polorogi. Very close to the bison, both species can interbreed without restrictions, giving fertile offspring-bison. Because of this, they were sometimes treated as a single species. The bison reaches 2.5-3 meters in length and up to 2 meters in height. Its thick coat is gray-brown, black-brown on the head and neck. The front part of the body is covered with longer hair. The head is massive, with a broad forehead; short thick horns spread out to the sides, the ends of them are wrapped inwards; the ears are short and narrow; the eyes are large, dark, and the neck is short.
