Advantages and disadvantages of living in the city centre
The life in the city center has its own advantages and disadvantages.
I consider that the main advantage is the transport accessibility. It is easy to get to any place throughout the city. You don’t depend on traffic jams and you can reach your office or school quickly. The main places of interest of your city are nearby of your place. So you can visit a museum or a theater whenever you want.
But the are some disadvantages as well. Ecological situation is poor in the city center because there are too many vehicles and too few trees there and the main parks are situated in the outskirts of the city. The infrastructure is not well-developed in the city center as well. You have to walk for a long time to get to your local clinic or your post office or your bank office and so on. The department stores are quite expensive in the city center. There are plenty of chain stores and farmers’ markets in the city but most of them are located in the outskirts of the city and the people living in the city center have to buy food far from their place of living.
As for me, I’d prefer to live in the city center because I like to walk there and watch the old buildings and I can spend hours just walking through the historical center of the city.
