The parliament is the Supreme legistativ body in the United Kingdom and the Royalwerseas territories. It is headed by the British monarch. The dicameral Parliament includes an upper house, called the House of lords and the lower house called the House of Cjmmons. The house of lords is not selected, it includes the lords spiritual ( higher clerdy of the Anglican Church ) and the secular lords ( members persta ). The houses of Commons, by contrast, democratially elected chamber. The house of lords and House of Commons are going in different rooms of the Palace of Westminister in London. According to custom, all the Ministers, including the Prime Minister, are chosen exlusively from members of Parliament.
Parliament evolved from the ancient Royal Council. In treory, the power does not come from Parliament but from the ``Queen-in-Parliament``. It is often said that only the Queen-in-Parliament is the Supreme authority, although this is quite a controversial statement.
Currently, the power comes from the democraticaly elected house of Commons., the Monarch acts as the Executive body, and the power of the house of lords is severely limited.
