"he is drowning, we must save him," nelly cried out. although we were frightened, we knew what to do. as we were going to the mountains we had all kinds of ropes with us. we took a rope and quickly threw its end to taras. but the rope and quickly threw its end to taras. but the rope did not reach him because it was too short. we took another one, and this time taras caught it. gathering all our strength we began to pull the rope. still it was difficult for us to get taras out of there. when there were only four or five steps left to the bank the rope broke. but taras was already out of danger. an hour later we found a place where we could cross the river.
