Derek: Hi, Sam. Haven't seen you for ages. How are you? Sam: Oh, Derek, is that you? It's been a long time since last summer. How are you? Derek: I'm so happy to be back at camp. And how is your best friend Lucy? Sam: Oh, Lucy is great. She is in college now. She is studying English Literature at Princeton University. Derek: Wow! That's really far away. How do you keep in touch? Sam: We don't meet very often, but she writes lots of e-mails and I phone her regularly. I don't like e-mails. Derek: So where is she spending her summer? You always come to camp together. Sam: don't you know her news? Derek: No, what is it? Sam: Lucy has found a summer job. Derek: What does she do? Sam: She works with children. Derek: Is she a teacher? Sam: Not really. Actually, she's a counsellor in our camp. So I see quite a lot of her these days. Derek: How wonderful! Sam: Isn't it? You can go and talk to her. She welcomes new campers in their cabins. Goodbye then. Derek: OK. See you soon!
My dream to become a ski champion. I think, that anyone can to be a champion, it just takes a lot of hard work. Sport is of course an important part of our life. It helps us to make a character. It teaches to win or to lose. And it is the best way to meet people from other countries. There is a difference between watching sport events or going in for sports. Some people say that they like sport and they are fans of football games and others sport events. They watch football, skating at the stadium on TV, sitting in a comfortable arm-chair. And some people take part in sport. Sportsmen are well-build with strong muscles. They are hard- working and well organized. As for me, I prefer watching games, especially football, hockey, but in winter I ski or skate. Every child can become a champion in future if he trains hard. Their parents must help them in it. Anyone who takes drugs should not be allowed to take part in sports. Health of sportsmen depends on many things food he eats, his good or bad habits. Taking drugs is the most dangerous thing in sport all over the world. Drugs influence negatively skin, heart, memory. It is the course of slow reactions, what’s why sportsmen mustn’t take drugs. Every athlete must pass doping control on the competitions. You must care for your health, because sport is life. Winning competitions is not important for you, taking part is more important. You can choose of kinds of sport and enjoy them. Not everybody becomes champion, but while training you become fit and what’s important thing. Tomorrow i will train in the skiing.
