Sorry I haven’t been in touch since Wednesday, but I’ve been busy getting ready all week, and I haven’t collected my ticket yet from the travel agency. As soon as I get to Sydney, I’ll write you a letter. I’ve never been to Australia before but I’ve been reading a lot about it lately. It sounds great! I’ll be in Sydney by the end of the next week, and then I’m travelling to Melbourne. I’ll be there for a month. By the time I get back all my friends will have forgottten me! 
I would have sent Patti a postcard on her birthday last week if I had known  her address.
