Плавучие острова племени Урос в озере Титикака полностью состоят из тростника. Этот искусственный архипелаг был создан несколько тысяч лет назад уросами, бежавшими от наступающего племени инков, чтобы сохранить свою самобытность.

The floating islands of the Uros tribe in Lake Titicaca consist entirely of reeds. This artificial archipelago was created several thousand years ago by the monstrosities that fled from the advancing tribe of the Incas to preserve their identity.

The surface of the islands is a reed bunch of 1.5-2 meters, so it is not at all solid, as it seems from a distance, and bends under the weight of a person. Reed here serves not only as a "land", but also as a material for the creation of boats, souvenirs, objects of economic use, it is even used for food.

The main fishery for residents of floating islands is fishing and hunting, and more recently also tourism. Young lessons use the island as additional earnings, presenting tourists with unusual excursions to the unique life of the ancient people of Peru.
