past simple я использовала только когда действие совершилось и все тут, например «он посмотрел» он же не делал это долго или «он заметил» он же не долго замечал past continuous я использовала когда действие долго совершалось, и возможно показать процесс, например «он готовил ужин когда она зашла», готовил он долго, а зашла она быстро вот!!
