To my mind, life in the city is much easier than in the country. You саn find work and there are a lot of interesting things to do and to see. Life is more convenient in a city: services are always better here. Besides in the city people have more chances to be successful and to be famous.
There's more diversity in leisure time: clubs, parties, festivals, exhibitions, internet, the ability to easily meet many people from the same Internet. It is easier to make money than in the countryside.
And in the city, you can quickly buy new things, remove the new housing. In the city of more people - more singles and more communication. It does not waste time growing food, less worries about the economy. Easier with hot water, toilets, electricity, heat, the ability to wash, to cook food. Simply create an opportunity for an appropriate education, the advantage - it is a good mobile communications and the Internet.
However, there are lots of disadvantages of urban life. Big cities are overcrowded and its population is growing with every passing day. Another problem of big cities is air and water pollution caused by industrial plants, domestic heating and traffic. It is generally agreed that air pollution as well as smog have harmful impacts on health. Ecological situation in a village is usually not so bad. There are no big plants and other factories. That means that air in a village is a lot cleaner than in a dusty big city. Picturesque views. A village is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. It is so easy to go for a stroll in a forest. Some people move out of big cities to the countryside. One of the reasons is an opportunity to live in a detached house. When you are in the village you can hear only birds singing and leaves rustling and see only green and blue. There are no car`s horns or loud music from the clubs and people can enjoy the nature.
But for every plus there is a minus. Most citizens even can`t imagine how people live in the country without heating, hot water, television. On the other hand there are many people who live there all their life and can`t imagine living in the city. Moreover there is often no light and people have to go to bed very early. There is often the only school for several villages and children have to get up very early and go very far and the roads in the country leave much to be desired. There are also some disadvantages of living in the village. First of all, it is a commuting problem. There is a lack of public transport in the country and that can be a great problem for people who need emergency assistance. Besides, if you want to make a career or get a higher education, you'll have to commute between your home in the country and your office in the city.
Braslau Lakes
Braslau Lakes is one of the seven Belarus National Parks. It is a unique ecosystem with a number of lakes and large area of pine forest with a general area of about 700 km 2. This include 30 lakes. The largest lakes are Dryviaty (be: Дрывяты) , Snudy (be: Снуды) , and Strusta (be: Струста) .
The territory of the National Park is separate and it is in Braslau administrative district near the border with Lithuania. In the north it is adjacent to Belarusian-Latvian border. The entire territory of the park stretches in the north-eastern direction. In this direction it is 55 km long and in width it is between 5 to 29 km. Total area of the park is 69.1 thousand hectares. The southern part of the park is represented by lowlands covered with forests. The major part of the area is occupied by different types of bogs. One can encounter several beautiful forest lakes. Here you can find the lake Boginskoye - one of the most beautiful in the Braslav area. The forests here belong to coniferous-deciduous group, and occupy 31 thousands hectares. One can distinguish the following woodlands: Borunsky, Belmont, Boguinsky, Druiskaya Dacha. Pine-woods and fir-woods are widely spread.
Through the latest glacial period, about 18-29 thousand years ago, the area of Braslav Lakes was covered with vast ice fields, the thickness of up to several hundreds meters. The warming, which came afterwards brought along slow ice melting and its movement further to the north. As a result of the complicated process, which accompany the melting of such a huge amount of ice, the characteristic features of the nature of Poozerye with its hilly relief and lakes have shaped. Their concentration at certain relatively small territories is sometimes simply unique. In the North-West of the Republic of Belarus one of the most picturesque lake group of Belarusian Poozerye - the Braslav lakes- is located. An amazing lace comprising 30 big and small lake connected between each other spread out at the area of 114 km2. The biggest lakes are Drivyaty, Snudy, Strusto, Voiso, Volosovo, Nedrovo, Nespish, Berezhe. This group of lakes made up the core of the Braslav Lakes National Park, which was set up in September 1995.
Animals and plants
Out of the rare species, which are entered in the Belarusian Red Book, the habitat of badger, lynx, bear are noticed. Out of the water-fowl you can distinguish the swans. This beautiful bird was practically ousted by people but now it inhabits the Braslav lakes. You can meet a black stork, common crane, silver seagull, willow grouse, dunlin, etc. The lakes of Braslav are rich with different kinds of fish. Pike perch, bream, white bait, tench, whitefish are widely spread. Eel is of especial value. Widely spread are bore, roe, squirrel, brown and white hare, fox, raccoon, wolf, marten, otter, mink.

I want to tell you about one of the most beautiful places in Belarus that I have ever seen. Stunning landscapes, many lakes, cozy villages. It is easy to guess that we are talking about the Braslav lakes. Once my parents and I decided to go on vacation and chose the Braslav Lakes as a place for it. We were very interested in what kind of place it was. The national park is located in the north-west of the country, very close to the border with Lithuania and Latvia, so we had a long way to go from Minsk. Entering the park, we saw dozens of pristine lakes and picturesque hills covered with pine forests. We settled in a small village called Slobodka. It is considered one of the most interesting places of the reserve. It attracts a lot of tourists. A well – preserved witness to the last glaciation is the ozone ridge. There, on a small territory, you can see a perfectly preserved glacial relief, and plant species listed in the Red Book, and ancient settlements-fortified settlements of the Iron Age and the Middle Ages. There is also a snow-white church with a memorable appearance. The largest and most important settlement in the national park is the city of Braslav, from which the name of the park itself came. In the city there are beautiful churches, both Orthodox and Catholic, which you should definitely visit if you find yourself in Braslav. For the panorama and spectacular view, the first place, without a doubt, goes to Mount Mayak. Relative to the nearby lakes, Strusto and Snuda, the height of the Mountain is about 44 meters. When we reached the gazebo at the top of the Lighthouse, the view took our breath away. It opened on all the lakes and villages. The same snow-white church in Slobodka was also visible. Watching such beauty, you realize how beautiful nature is in Belarus.
