ПАЗЯЗЯ Task 1.
Read the passage and decide whether the statements 1–5 are True or False.

Back to school!

Yes, school has begun again! Every year you have to go back and face all that hard work again.
That’s fine when you enjoy a lesson, but it can be a problem if there are subjects you don’t like. We
spoke to some young students who told us which lessons they were fond of or didn’t like.
Jenny, 13, says. ‘My favourite subject is English. We all have to learn English in my country because it
is very difficult to find a job if you don’t know it. I started learning English in a language school when I was
seven. In the beginning, the lessons were easy. We learnt words and easy grammar – you know, the present
simple and the present continuous. Now I’m in intermediate class and the course we are doing is quite difficult.
I am good at English, but I think this year I’ll have to work harder.’
Lorenzo, 14, says. ‘Of course, my favourite lesson is the break! No, what I mean really is that I don’t
like a lot of the subjects we do. I’m not very fond of French, of English. I think learning foreign languages takes
a lot of time and you have to revise too often. If you don’t, it’s very easy to forget what you have learnt. Maths
is okay – sometimes. I really like PE and my new geography teacher is great – she tells some good jokes – so
our lessons are fun this year. I wish all my teachers were like her.’
Victor, 14 says. ‘Last year I thought school was boring. I looked at my timetable each day and thought.
‘Oh, no!’ I did badly in my English exam and my report at the end of the year wasn’t very good, so my mum
was angry. Anyway, this year I’ve decided to try harder. My best friend, Nick, who I sit next to in English
lessons, says he’ll help me with any difficult exercises and that we’re going to do lots of revision together.’
1. Jenny says that learning English is important.
2. Jenny thinks this year will be easy.
3. Lorenzo thinks learning English is difficult.
4. Lorenzo prefers geography lessons to English lessons.
5. Victor wants to do well in English this year.

school  really plays an important role in our life. you may like it or you may not but we spend so much time at school that it becomes our second home. and no doubt this is true. what is the role of school in modern age? first of all it is making students literate. all students study for eleven years to get knowledge. and the most important role of school is giving knowledge. there are students who like studying because they are doing well in most subjects and they are going to continue their education after school, get higher education. but for those who are not successful in schooling and who are always pressed by their parents and teachers school becomes boring and not interesting.

the education given at  our school  is of a very high standard. i'm a good student actually and i don't have many problems with schooling. i generally get on quite well with the teachers. i am quite successful in class and i usually go to school with pleasure, because i like my school and my teachers.

i think school gives me not only knowledge. children are taught real life there.  school  helps us understand our life better. school is a place where we create and develop our relationships, are taught to be tolerant and respect one another. and school teaches us principles and how not to lose face in difficult situations.
