Пересказ текста в косвенной речи (без лишних подробностей).

Paul was tired when he came out of the hotel and got into the car.

"No, this hotel hasn't got any rooms either. "

"Oh, " said Patricia, "this is the eighteenth, and it's already late.

Let's come into a cafe to have a cup of coffee. And then we can phone some other hotels from there. "

"That's a good idea, Paul said. There is a nice place over there. Let's have some very hot coffee and then I'll start telethon- ing. " It was August and St. Moritz was very full. Patricia and Paul decided to spend a few days at this popular place for holidays. All the hotels were full. Paul stopped the car near a nice building and they came into the cafe. There were a lot of people there. A pleasant looking middle-aged man with grey hair came up to them and showed Paul and Patricia to the table.

"Oh, thank you very much, " Patricia said.They drank coffee. Then Paul went to telephone hotels. He telephoned five hotels but the answer was the same: "No, we haven't got any rooms iree to- night. "

It was the ninth hotel when Paul suddenly heard: "Would you wait a moment please?" Then: "Good evening, You'd like to have a double room, wouldn't you?" "Yes. Is there any hope?" Well, it's difficult to say. We've got a room. The people who have reserved it haven't arrived yet. And it's half past twelve already. I think you may have the room. " "Oh, many thanks! I've telephoned so many hotels. Let's see! Yes, you are the Hotel Stefani, aren't you?" "That's right. The Hotel Steffni. " "Where is your hotel, please?" "In the centre of St. Moritz. Where are you speaking from?"

"I really don't know. But I'll ask the way. And what's your name, please?" "My name is Markie."

Paul left the telephone booth and came back to the table. "We've got a room. " He called the waitress.

"The bill, please. And do you know where the Hotel Stefani is?"

"Yes, you are right. This is it, sir.

"What did you say?" "I say this is the Hotel Stefani. "

"Is it really? And I'd like to speak to Mr Markie. Where is he?"

"One moment, sir. He must be here, Oh, yes, sir, there he is.""

Paul looked and saw the pleasant looking middle-aged man with grey hair at the next table. (After J. M. Ward).
