Our yard is a huge rock on the grass. At first I thought (a) That is currently the stone takes just the right place on the playground. A few weeks into our local housing department settled Uncle Vanya, he worked as an artist. Very beautiful painting depicts Uncle Vanya. Mir Castle
Mir Castle is quite a famous tourist attraction in Belarus. It is included into the UNESCO List of World Heritage. Every year the castle is visited by several hundreds of thousands of people. Not so long ago I went there with my classmates.
We had known a few facts from the history of the castle before going on this trip and we all knew what to expect, but I still was impressed with what I saw. It was a bright day at the end of May and the castle looked straight out of a fairy-tale, with its five square towers, massive walls and a picturesque courtyard. The castle was built at the end of the 15th – early 16th century and at the beginning of our century it was beautifully restored. Now it provides a fascinating insight into the life of its previous owners and inhabitants. Tourists are told wonderful stories and legends about the castle and the man-made lake. I liked climbing up the steep narrow stairs inside one of the towers imagining myself a warrior. Then we climbed down and went to the basement. It was a bit scary but fun to see the old torture chamber there.
I was glad to visit this place. It was such a memorable educational experience!
