There is a saying: "People cease to think, when cease to read." And that's certainly true. Without reading the person is not expanding its stock of knowledge and does not load the brain as it should be. All thanks to the fact that the book teaches "the culture of the mind," forcing deeper thinking, trains attention, memory and fills disciplinarum mind.
A person who is not accustomed to read, limited to a small vocabulary, and the conversation skips words-parasites, like "well", "it", "here" etc. and by reading, one becomes more competent, because he subconsciously remembers the correct spelling of words and use them in a sentence.
There are several reasons why it is so important to read books:
1. Reading develops speech of the person and increases his vocabulary. Also reading books teaches people to Express their thoughts and comprehend the meaning of what other people.
2. Through reading develops thinking. The book explains and shows, and it also helps to notice the connection of one phenomenon with another.
3. Reading develops and expands horizons. From books people can learn about other countries and other lifestyles, technology, nature and everything that interests you.
4. Also work with the book stimulates the imagination, the creative imagination and teaches to think.
5. The book helps to understand other people.
6. Books help a person to know himself. Especially books on psychology. Because self-esteem is essential to know what other people think, react and feel the same as he. And the best psychology books will help in this.
7. Books teach ethics, are forced to think about good and evil, and also to develop the capacity for empathy.
8. Reading books gives inspiration and strength. Books entertain and captivate. They make you cry and laugh. And also give comfort and show the way out of the difficult situation.
9. Reading books is the most useful and accessible activity for emotional-mental and intellectual development of man.
10. Reading is a source of great sense of humor. It helps in the conversation to come up with your own jokes.
Thus, if a person reads nothing but, for example, textbooks, you cannot expect him to be educated and erudite. Even a high school diploma or a diploma of higher does not make him educated.
