Our mentality, mindset and beliefs are formed while we grow up. We are influenced by books, films, politics and people around us. It is obvious that people with whom we we have a close relationship have the most significant impact on us. Let us take a closer look and invesigate whether our friends affect us more than our family when we are young.
On the one hand, friends definitely affect our personality. We choose people who later become our friends and in some way our choice shapes our future. They influence us when we share and adopt their points of view, attitudes to things and, moreover, they often become our main sources of information and, therefore, we learn plenty of things from their perspective.
On the other hand, there is a famous saying that we don't choose our parents and family, however everyone spends a significant part of their life with family members whether they like it or not. As young people absorb everything they face and are easily influenced, they, therefore, are under great influence of their families too because they communicate on daily basis.
In conclusion, as a whole, teenagers are equally influenced by both family and friends. However, in certain cases, one influence can outweigh another.
