Born in the village of Konstantinovo Kuzminski parish in Ryazan region, Ryazan province, into a peasant family.Worked in a printing house, was friends with the poets of the Surikov literary-musical circle. Esenin went in Konstantinovsky rural school, after which in 1909 began his studies at a parochial high school teacher. After school, in the fall of 1912 Yesenin left home, once arrived in Moscow, worked in the butcher shop, then in the printing house of I. D. Sytin. In 1913 he began to attend lectures at the historical-philosophical Department of the Moscow city people's University named after A. L.
