Black Tulip Many years ago lived in the Netherlands, on the outskirts of the Hague, an unremarkable (unremarkable) man named Hans. He was a shoemaker by trade, and a very good one at that. The Dutch, as you know, are very fond of flowers, they are especially famous for their tulips. Hans was no exception. For many years, he grew various types of tulips, until one day he saw an unusual Tulip in his garden. It was black. No one had ever grown black tulips before, and Hans was very proud of his amazing flower. News, as you know, travels very quickly. And the news about the unique flower became known throughout the country. Many people wanted to buy a black Tulip bulb, but the cobbler-gardener would not hear of it, although he was in great need of money. One day people came to see Hans and offered him more money than he had ever earned in his entire life, although he was always a very skilled craftsman and a hard-working man. Hans thought about it for a few days and said that he would sell the onion. And no wonder! After all, at that time, namely in 1670, this money could buy several houses. Only after he had received the money and counted it, did he give these people his treasure. No sooner had the strangers received the onion than they threw it on the ground and trampled on it until nothing was left of it. "What are you doing? What are you, crazy? "I've worked all my life to grow this miracle, and you've destroyed it!"» "Fool," they replied, " we were prepared to pay you twice as much. The fact is that we also grew a black Tulip, but we do not want any competitors in this country!» When Hans heard that he had missed the chance to get twice as much money as he had been given, he went mad. Well, black tulips have ceased to be a rarity over time. The most famous varieties are called: "Queen of the night", "Black beauty", "Black magic", "Black hero".
