Task 1 Read the text The Library of Congress’ cooking club presented Kazakh dishes. Kazakh cuisine is familiar for both the teacher of history at the University of Maryland Sarah Cameron and IRS Senior Program Officer Stanley Courier who have lived in Kazakhstan for several years. They spoke about the peculiarities of the Kazakh cuisine noting the influence of the multinational culture. Sarah and Stanley stressed that one can taste Kazakh meat, Russian Borshch, Korean salads and Uzbek plov at the hospitable and generous dastarkhan table in every Kazakh family. Presentation table had Uzbek plov, bauyrsak, Kazakh coffee bread, and salads that are popular in Kazakhstan. They also treated the overseas audience with Kazakh sweet dried apricots and world famous Kazakhstani chocolate. Sherley Lou: “Library of cooking Club was established in 1949 and we are interested in different cultures not just what has cooked in the USA. So when it became possible to two speakers to talk about Kazakhstan, I thought it would be wonderful for most people who do not know where Kazakhstan is if they are not geography majors or political science or something. So we are very glad to hear this because two speakers gave us a very good view of the country and the hospitality of the people. “Hello. My name is Stanley Courier. I have worked and lived in Kazakhstan for more than 10 years and today we were invited in the US Congress Library to speak about the Kazakh cuisine. It was very pleasant to see that the presentation was attended by more that 50 people. Me and my colleague Sarah Cameron from the University of Maryland answered many questions about Kazakhstan. We told not only about food but also about the hospitality of the Kazakh people. We are also happy to see that everyone liked the presentation.”

Я  бы не  могла жите без телефона .  потому что с телефона  мы можем общаться с родными и близкими и даже звонить в разные города и страны . телефон выполняет такую функцию : с    него мы можем звонить своим друзьям и близким , сидеть в интернете , писать сообщения , фотографировать разные предметы . я  бы  не  могла жить без компьютера .  потому  что с    него мы можем сидеть в интернете смотреть на большом экране фильмы и играть в  разные игры , слушать  музыку и  искать нужную нам информацию. я  бы  не  могла жить без телевизора  . потому что с    него мы можем смотреть  разные  программы ,  теже мультфильмы и  познавать нужную нам информацию

1. Heat up the milk. Beat the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl.

2. Pour in a little boiling-hot milk, beating all the time, then pour in the rest of the milk and blend.

3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and leave to thicken, stirring continuously.

4. Do not allow the cream to boil.

5. Once it coats the back of the spoon it is cooked. Leave to cool for a while. Add the cocoa and whip the mixture.

6. Add the fresh cream and whip again.

7. Leave the cream to cool before pouring into the ice-cream churn for freezing.
