Существуют слова - маяки для present simple - usually, often, once, twice week / year, always never.
Present Continuous употребляется, когда речь идет о действиях, которые происходят В ДАННЫЙ МОМЕНТ речи, т.е. СЕЙЧАС. Например, my mother is making dinner now, моя мама готовит ужин сейчас, my grandmother is watching TV at the moment, моя бабушка смотрит телевизор в данный момент. Слова - маяки для present Continuous - now, at present, at the moment, right now.
