In England all girls and boys must wear a particular uniform. If you see a pupil attired in blue, know for sure that this person comes from England. However, for the past years every school in England may change rules. Pupils are allowed to wear shorts (in summer) and sweaters (if it’s cold). For the most part pupils wear trousers, skirts (only girls), shirts, blouses, blazers and dresses (also for girls). Strangely enough, but boys and girls should wear a tie as well.
1 Pupils don’t have a uniform in England.

3. Pupils can wear shorts in summer.
4. Girls shouldn’t wear ties.
5. The boys can wear skirts.
Chuffnell asked me why I hadn’t told him/her I had been engaged to Pauline Stoker.
I told Chuffnell stiffly that I didn’t understand him/her.
Chuffnell asked me if I had expected her/him to send me a post card. She/ He added that I could have told her/him that morning.
I replied that I had seen no reason to do so. I wondered how she/he had heard about it.
Chuffnell said that sir Roderick Glossop had happened to mention it.
I wondered if he had done and added that he had broken it off.
Chuffnell wanted to know what I meant.
