She said he would become angry when she told him that. 3. Mary answered she couldn`t stay, and Dickon was waiting for her; and she hadn`t been in the garden the previous day. And she asked to tell Colin to read or look through his books. 4. Martha said he had been waiting for Mary since seven o'clock. And she asked if Mary couldn`t come just for a minute. 5. Mary said she couldn`t and she didn`t want to. And she added that she would come to see him in the evening, and told not to look at her in that way.
