Write an email to your English-speaking friend (50-100 words) about a celebration you've attended. In your email: • let him/her know where you are. • describe what you've seen. • recommend the event.
I am in Moscow at the moment. We have a great holiday here - it is called International Women's Day!
I know you do not celebrate it in the USA, so, I have decided to describe it to you, so you could become a little more familiar with our culture.
You cannot even imagine how beautiful all ladies become this day! All of the (from the very youngest to the oldest) wear nice clothes, smile and older ones put pretty make up on and do their hair. All men rush to buy flowers staring the evening before, can you believe it?! Flowers are all over, you can meet lots of flowers on the streets, in the underground and just about everywhere you go! All ladies smile and get a day off from their usual daily routine - their husbands cook for them, clean the house and help the way they can!
I'm sorry, I haven't written earlier, I was very busy at my school.
By the way, I want to tell you about my weekends. I was in the "Festival of Food". It was so fun. There were many stands with different kinds of food: street food, fast-food, restaurant food and luxery food. And all stands were on air. All area was seperated on local area: American food, Europe food, food from Chine, Indea, Korea and etc. The food wasn't expensive. I tasted some of them. My favourite was mochi from Japan. It's really tasteful desert. The event finished at the evening. All area was lit up by small garland. And all guests can get a fresh ice drinks.
I really recommed to visit events like that because you can not only taste different food, but learn something new about anouther country, their cultural and traditions.
