Symbols of parts of Great Britain and their meaning
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland has four historic parts: England with its capital in London, Scotland with its capital in Edinburgh, Wales with its capital in Cardiff and Northern Ireland with its capital in Belfast. The floral symbol of England is the RED ROSE. The Scottish symbol is a wild plant called the THISTLE. At one point, the Scandinavians planned to attack a Scottish village. But the thorns of the thistle hurt their bare feet. Their howls of pain pierced the silence and the Scots awoke to fight the enemy. The Welsh symbol is a vegetable called the LEEK (or, on occasion, the flower, the daffodil).Daffodils which burst into flames by the 1st of March celebrate the revered Welsh saint. The Irish symbol is another wild plant called the SHAMROCK. This plant helped St Patrick explain to the people of his country what the Holy Trinity is. The historic colours of the parts are: England, WHITE, Scotland, BLUE, Wales, RED, Northern Ireland, GREEN. Sport teams of the nations wear these colours.

I took my exam in October, and my score was low due to many reasons. I was sick during the test. I had a flu and an angina, my temperature was 39 deg. But I did not want to miss the test. When I came to the test center I saw that the computer center was very old. Most students had problem with their computers, including me. A lot of my answers were not saved. I also had some problems with headphones, they were broken. I heard only about 70 percent of the lecture. Moreover I heard a strange noise from my microphone. One of the students had to re-write her essay, because her computer had turned off. Other test centers were always being fully reserved and it was almost impossible to find a seat there. I expected to be able to retake test in January. By now I do not have any other problems with my French besides my low score.
