Are there any jobs in which women are better suited than men? Let's be honest. There are overall differences between men and women. And there are some jobs which men are generally better suited for. Here are some examples.
Construction - Male dominated occupation. Requires a lot of heavy lifting, so it's suited for men.
Firefighting - Yes, there are women firefighters, but in general, men are better suited for this role. Often a very physically demanding job.
Special Forces in the Military - Again, due to the physical demands of this job, this occupation is dominated by men.
This list isn't exhaustive. I just wanted to make a list that wasn't too controversial, and I think most people would agree with the examples I provided above.
And then I got to thinking. Are there jobs in which women are better suited than men in the same way as the jobs listed above? I had trouble thinking of any, but perhaps some of you could come up with a few examples.
Certainly there are more jobs in which most of the personnel are female, like nursing (a very physical job, actually) and teaching, nursery workers, etc etc. I also know of a man who routinely has female staff because he says their fingers are better for plant nursery work. I suppose though, for most of us, gender isn't an issue. Life isn't a competition between men and women.
Well this is all very generalized. We might say childcare but when men do get into childcare the children tend to bond with the man equally if not better. And nbo I dont mean better just to spite women its because seeing men is rare in childcare postions so children see his presence as out of the ordinary so they are more fascinated.
THe thing is stereotyping is a waste and the only reason men might be more suited to those is because of physical strength/endurance. I don't see why women can't be of value in the careers you mentioned. There are women that could do these jobs better than some men. Jobs women *might* be better at: childcare worker, social worker, wedding planner, nurse, cna. I've worked as a cna and I have worked with only one male. Not saying men cannot do these jobs well too. Jobs a woman can do better: prima ballerina, hooters girl, stripper at a men's club, playboy bunny (they still have them), soprano singer.
Communication/language jobs like teaching, psychology, sociology, nursing, etc... There are men that are well suited for all of these jobs, but more women have more of the skills needed to do well in these areas. All of these jobs require patience and nurturing and listening, and I think more women have those qualities than men.
